Since 2020, DPRK Explained has been working to produce short, educational videos focused on engaging international audiences with everyday life in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

We’ve also been working hard with partners around the world on cultural engagement projects between organisations inside Korea and groups around the globe.

DPRK Explained videos are built around core aspects of everyday life in Korea - whether it be infrastructure, cultural events, national holidays, or history - these videos aim to give you an insight into life inside the country.

It's a common belief that not much happens outside the DPRK's capital, Pyongyang. This couldn't be further from the truth. DPRK Cities is a series aimed at providing an insight into the country's provincial cities, delving into their rich history and culture!

Visiting Korea is not as daunting as it may seem to a first time adventurer! In fact, travel is possible almost everywhere in the country - from the bustling streets of Pyongyang and the ancient streets of Kaesong, to the mountainous peaks of Kumgangsan and the rarely-visited foothills in the Northeast.
